Introducing: {justify} {/justify}

Justify (verb): "to make (a line of type) a desired length by spacing the words and letters, esp. so that full lines in a column have even margins both on the left and on the right."

Not Justified:
This is some text that is not justified. This is some text that is not justified. This is some text that is not justified. This is some text that is not justified. It just repeats over and over again for demonstration of non-justification. This is some text that is not justified. It helps to add random stuff, though, rather than just copy and paste. This is some text that is not justified. This is some text that is not justified. This is some text that is not justified. So here is just some more random text that doesn't mean anything. It just repeats over and over again for demonstration of non-justification. This is some text that is not justified. This is some text that is not justified. This is some text that is not justified.

Justified:
This is some text that is justified. This is some text that is justified. This is some text that is justified. This is some text that is justified. It just repeats over and over again for demonstration of jusification. This is some text that is justified. It helps to add some random text, though, rather than just copy and paste. This is some text that is justified. This is some text that is justified. This is some text that is justified. It just repeats over and over again for demonstration of jusification. This is some text that is justified. So then, here is more random text that doesn't belong or mean anything. This is some text that is justified. This is some text that is justified. This is some text that is justified. It just repeats over and over again for demonstration of jusification.

Enjoy! *Bigsmile*

Greetings Members!

To help relieve some of the confusion members are having about where the "edit", "delete" and other tools links have gone in the Portfolio area, I've split the initial Manage Items portfolio link into two new links:
          Show Tools || Show Manager.

I also added this "Tip" message which hopefully better explains how they work:

*Bullet* To show Edit, Delete and other tool links below each item, click Show Tools.
*Bullet* For bulk portfolio management, such as move and delete, click Show Manager.

All three of the Portfolio's "Show" links (Show Details, Show Tools and Show Manager) remember what you've clicked and will hold that setting from page to page. To "Hide" their information, click the "Hide" link and the system will remember that's your new preference.

Greets,

You can now set whether your item tool links (like edit, delete, etc) open into a new tab/window (the default) or the current window. For those of you who find yourself getting lost in tablation1, ending up with endless tabs, this may be a preference you've been waiting for! *Smile*

Head to:
          http://www.writing.com/main/my_account/action/edit_prefs
And set the Tool Links New Tab/Window preference.

Enjoy!

Footnotes
1  Lost in tablation is not a typo, but instead an awful pun on "Lost in Translation". And don't forget, our Footnote WritingML tab is great for this type of additional information. *Wink*

Greetings Members!

We appreciate everyone's feedback on the updated folder system in our Newport update. Most everyone loves the speed and ease of use the new in-line folder system provides. One thing we heard from a lot of members was a desire for personalization of your folders, and it was something we definitely wanted to provide. Being conscience of the space limitations, as the contents of folders opened in-line are indented, we're not able to show the existing folder "body" area -- many members format that area to use the entire width of the page. So, we decided the best solution was to provide a completely new field!

*Bullet* Our new Folder Summary allows you to add up to 750 characters of text that's automatically loaded and shown when a visitor opens a folder within your portfolio. 'Small' WritingML tags work in this area (such as {b}, {item}, {post}), but not big tags (such as {image}, {bitem}, etc).

You can add or change a folder's summary by using the item's edit form. The new field is located just above where you enter the larger folder "item body".

This new summary is optional. If it's not filled in, the system won't show anything above the folder's contents when its opened in-line.

*Bullet* In addition, two new links have been added to opened folders: Close Folder || Go to Folder
Placed both above and below the folder's contents, these are super convenient for port surfers who want to move on from or see more of a folder.

Greetings Members,

*Bullet* The + icon for adding a new favorite now dynamically updates when you click it, turning to a finger. The additional options pop-up still pops up allowing you to move the favorite to another favorite folder if you'd like to.

*Bullet* The "Fans" tab has been updated to now include the Fan/Favorite icon. You can now easily use this to toggle.

*Bullet* Access Restrictions for the Fans and Community tabs have been added. This gives members access control for all of the Newport tabs.

If you have any questions or problems with any of these Newport updates, please drop a post in "Beta Tests: Comments.

Thanks!

Greetings Members,

Access restrictions for your Biography, Notebook and Sliders tabs are now available.

You can set/change your tab access restrictions by using the "Manage your xxxx" link on the tab.

When a visitor comes to your portfolio, if one of these tabs is not accessible by them, it will not show in your tab line. In other words, if your "Biography" tab is set to "Private", that tab appears to noone but you. (The Blog tab does not follow this rule since it is an item with a possible Passkey, the tab is shown and a restricted page is given if the tab is clicked.)

This is a new addition that I've tested pretty well, but please report any problems by posting in "Beta Tests: Comments.

Thanks and best wishes,
~~SM
